also be used on the map for zooming in and out. You can define your zoom area
by selecting the "Magnifying glass" icon on the lower left side of
the map by clicking on it, and then dragging a rectangle over the map while
holding down the mouse cursor to set the zoom in area.
-
an Tool- You can also shift the map using the pan tool by simply clicking
and dragging the map with your mouse. When you click on the map, you should see
a “hand” image in place of your cursor. If you see a “cross” symbol instead,
this means you have the zoom tool activated. Click on the Zoom icon
(“Magnifying glass”) on the left to deactivate the zoom tool. The directional
arrows on top of the slider bar can also be clicked to move the map in each
direction.
-
Inset Map - The inset map appears on the lower right corner of the map. It
will display a smaller map showing the location of the zoomed-in area relative
to the entire Bay Area. You can minimize or maximize the inset map by clicking
the arrow in the lower right corner of the inset map. You can also move the map
by dragging the Inset Map, using the red box to indicate display area on the
main map window.
-
Note: the map zoom level
will remain the same as you move between tabs for Plan a Trip, Nearby Routes and
Services, and Rail Systems. As you begin using features within them, they may
initiate new map drawings and the work you have created on the trip planner may
reset.
